The Mesmerizing Beauty of the Mandore Gardens & Clock Tower

One of the most beautiful gardens in the city of Jodhpur includes the Mandore Garden. Mandore, the former capital of the rulers of Marwar, is situated about 5 miles to the north of the city of Jodhpur. The Mandore Garden is the main attraction of this place which has a high rock terrace.

The Mandore gardens are similar to the Hindu temples in appearance.

It is four storeys in height and includes elegant spirals. The entire place is built in red sandstone. The garden has beautiful columns. The dewal of Maharaja Ajit Singh is the most prominent and exquisite place in the garden. Most of the cenotaphs are built in beautiful picturesque gardens.

Jaswant Thada- Royal Splendor of Jodhpur

Jaswant Thada was built in the year 1899 by Sardar Singh, the ruler of Jodhpur in the memory of his father- Maharaj Jaswant Singh. It is located to the left of the Mehrangarh Fort complex. It is considered to be one of the most striking architectural buildings which are located ideally in the city of Jodhpur. Build in pure white marble, the Jaswant Thada is the burial ground of the early Jodhpur rulers. The royal crematorium is also located near to the place.

Architectural Marvel

The entire structure of Jaswant Thada is built with intricately carved marble sheets. Made with ultra thin marble sheets, the monument is elegant and polished. It glows with the fall of sun rays on the outer surface. There are exquisite marble works on the cenotaph of the monument. The entire monument resembles a temple with its architectural structures and carvings.

Umaid Palace- Royal Architectural Splendor

The city of Jodhpur boosts of architectural magnificence and skilled craftsmanship. It is known to be one of the most visited tourist destinations in Rajasthan. One of the most famous palaces is the Umaid Bhavan palace which is the last palace in India. This huge mansion was designed to provide employment opportunities to the local residents of the city of Jodhpur. The construction of the palace was initiated in the year 1929. It took 15 long years to complete the construction of the palace. The entire construction of the palace was completed in the year 1944.

The Umaid Palace was named after the ruler of Jodhpur- King Umaid Singh. The palace was opened to the royal family in the year 1944. The palace was the residential abode of the royal family and its successors. The architectural magnificence of the royal palace is incomparable.
